Our Southdown Station plant will provide low-cost power, protect the environment, produce new jobs for local residents, and increase local tax revenues.
	Southdown Station will require 500 person years of construction labour and will need to fill approximately 35 permanent operations and management positions, with local hiring a priority. The plant will provide direct and indirect employment, as well as substantial local purchases – all beneficial to the regional economy. Substantial tax revenues are guaranteed to support local schools, fire and safety services, and other public programs. Plant construction creates a ripple effect of commercial activity, strengthening local merchants and boosting the area’s economy. The new plant will supply Ontario with some of the cleanest, most efficient energy possible.
